Full-Time Club Operations Manager

The Opportunity:

Club de Ski Camp Fortune Ski Club is currently searching for a Club Operations Manager to coordinate day to day operations of the club, including operational, logistical, and administration support. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who wants to contribute in a meaningful way to a strong competitive alpine ski racing community. This role reports to the Board of Directors.

About Camp Fortune Ski Club:

Equipe de Ski Camp Fortune Ski Club was originally established in 1910 and has been operating the current racing program as a not for profit alpine racing club out of Camp Fortune Ski Hill located in Chelsea, Quebec (15 minutes North of Ottawa) since 1920.

Athlete focused, led by professional coaches, and parent supported, we are an independent organization providing Alpine Ski Racing Programs for about 200 athletes ranging from Nancy Greene to the U18..

Our focus on developing good people, healthy lifestyles, and strong families distinguish us as a premier club in the region. Our race programs have a long-standing history of producing life-long ski enthusiasts, and developing world-class ski racers. Some of our famous alumni include John & Harvey Clifford, Art & Andy Tommy, Anne Heggtveit, Betsy Clifford, Ken Read, Horst Bulau, and most recently Patrick Biggs, representing Canada at the World Championships and Olympic competitions.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Lead Coaches and the Board of Directors, providing operational, logistical,
    coordination and administration support.
  • Act as Club registrar, leading annual program registration process and ad hoc registrations
    throughout the year (e.g., dryland, summer/fall training camps, optional training etc.).
  • Manage membership and alumni databases.
  • Manage information requests and various Club email accounts.
  • Communicate and liaise with relevant stakeholders (members, hill operations, coaches, race-day volunteers etc.).
  • Manage Club website and content updates.
  • Attend Board of Director meetings, Committee meetings and Lead Coach meetings.
  • Support Club home races (e.g., race administration, communications, logistics etc.).
  • Manage annual planning and events calendar, ensuring important timelines and deliverables are achieved.
  • Manage TeamSnap (setting permissions etc.).
  • Support Club communications to ensure members stay informed and feel connected.
  • Partner with Lead Coaches on logistics for training camps (e.g., booking hotels and travel,
    coordinating communications etc.)
  • Act as a key point of contact for Club member questions, providing answers where possible and making connections to the right individual(s) in a timely manner.
  • Arrange for coach season passes and race day passes for visiting teams throughout the season.
  • Work closely with key volunteer positions (volunteer coordinator, clothing coordinator,
    communications coordinator, age group parent chairs etc.).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Administration, preferably with a ski-related or sporting organization.
  • Knowledgeable in the fields Business, Administration, Information Systems and Database
    Management.
  • Experience with Alpine Ontario, Ski Quebec Alpin, Alpine Canada and other regional race clubs is an asset.
  • Experience working with Microsoft applications and Google Drive (or similar software platforms).
  • Experience with website management and social media.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

Hours, Location and Compensation

  • The job hours are 35 hours per week during peak season (November to March and about 15 to 20 hours per week from April to October).
  • Hours are flexible, but the Club Operations Manager must be responsive to the needs of the club.
  • Ability to perform work remotely with an expectation to be visible and working frequently from Camp Fortune Ski Hill from the December holiday camp through to the end of March.
  • Annual seasons pass.
  • Compensation: salary commensurate with skills and experience.
